SCOPE or the Standing Committee on Professional Exchange is the first and largest Standing Committee in the International Federation of Medical Students' Associations (IFMSA). It is logically the largest project in IFMSA, offering international clerkships for medical students from around the globe, combining the curricular benefit to the cultural enrichment, making the exchanges offered quite a unique opportunity for every medical student. It is constantly enlarging, reaching more than 8000 exchanges per year, with 85 participating countries today.

"To promote cultural understanding and co-operation among medical students and all health professionals, through the facilitation of international students' exchanges"

The clerkships offered are recognized by most medical faculties, and constant effort is being done to improve the quality of our exchanges and getting recognition of the few faculties left. We are building beneficial academic partnerships for our exchange program with healthcare professionals' associations, as well as primary health care centers. We are also trying to lower the traveling expenses as well as other exchange related expenses by getting beneficial partnerships with airline alliances and insurance companies.

We remain, however dedicated, a group of volunteer medical students working on facilitating the foreign exchange of our fellow medical students. Our ever-enlarging community is made of every medical student traveling with us, the contact persons helping us welcoming the exchange students, the local and national exchange officer working hard on the placement of students and insuring lodging, boarding as well as social program and promoting the hospitality of their countries.
