Structure
SCORE is an assembly of National Officers on Research Exchange (NORE s) who represent their correspondent IFMSA NMOs. Along with the SCORE Director, the SCORE Supervisory Board (made up of three experienced NOREs or former NOREs) act as the governing body of SCORE. On the local level, SCORE is represented by the Local Officers on Research Exchange (LORE s).
Evaluation assistant strives for improvement SCORE exchanges by collecting the evaluation forms from the students and reporting the results to the SCORE community.
SCORE Director
SCORE Director is the officially elected head of the Standing Committee on Research Exchange. He/she is elected at every August Meeting for the period of one year. The candidates for the post of the SCORE Director recruit among the senior NOREs, who are experienced in SCORE routine.
The main task of the SCORE Director is to supervise the work of the NOREs throughout the year. The SCORE Director has the ultimate responsibility for these items:
- Leading SCORE: Communication within SCORE, communication with the other Standing Committee Directors and the Executive Board.
- Internet facilities: Maintaining the mailing lists, updating of the Internet homepage of the SCORE.
- External relations: Supervising the development and printing of SCORE promotional material, fundraising for SCORE projects, representing SCORE towards the external IFMSA contacts.
- Spreading the SCORE: Informing the new organisations approaching IFMSA about SCORE activities.
- Assisting NOREs: providing the newly elected NOREs with the information upon their request, maintaining the SCORE archives and the contact information list of all NOREs.
- Reviewing and updating the official SCORE documents.
National Officer on Research Exchange
The National Officer on Research Exchange (NORE) is the highest authority co-ordinating the Research Exchange Programme in his/her country. He is co-ordinating the work of the Local Officers on Research Exchange and representing his/her country at the SCORE meetings. The NORE is elected by the National Member Organisation following the standing orders of each National Member Organization. Every NORE automatically becomes a member of SCORE. The main tasks of the NORE are as follows:
- Leading LOREs: Training the LOREs about practical aspects of sending and receiving students and arranging application/acceptance procedure, communicating with the LOREs, assisting them in difficulties and facilitating their local contacts
- Research Exchange Projects: Gathering the research projects from the LOREs, updating the research project information of the National Member Organization in the SCORE internet database
- Contracts: Signing the contracts for the research exchange programme with the other NOREs
- Outgoing Exchanges: Co-ordinating the selection of the outgoing students, and facilitating the application process.
- Incoming Students: Supervising the task of receiving incoming students.
Local Officer on Research Exchange
The Local Officer on Research Exchange (LORE) is elected or appointed by the local committee at the medical faculty. The LORE is the one who brings the whole concept of the research exchange programme into real life at the local level. The main tasks of the LORE are:
- Training: participating at the training periods organised by the NORE
- Research Exchange Projects: contacting the potential tutors, and securing projects for the exchange.
- Outgoing Exchanges: Organizing student selection, and helping them with the application process.
- Incoming Exchanges: Organizing the practical aspects of receiving the incoming students by arranging board, lodging and a social program. Also maintains contact with the tutors and supervises the exchange.
Members of the SCORE Supervisory Board
The SCORE Supervisory Board (SCORE SB) is elected by the SCORE amongst experienced NOREs or former NOREs,. The SCORE Supervisory Board acts as the governing body of SCORE along with the SCORE director to maintain the quality of the research exchange program.
