International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War - IPPNW

International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War (www.ippnw.org) is a 20 year old, Nobel Peace Prize awarded and, in the current world situation, an organization very much needed. Situation in Kashmir, explosion of the antiballistic missile treaty and the immense amount of landmines around the world. As future doctors we will be the one who will treat the patients who will suffer the possible consequences of these. Prevention by raising awareness is what medical students should also do. That is why IFMSA has relations with IPPNW.

  • To get expertise and lecturers from IPPNW, for example in the fields of conflict resolution, grassroots campaigning and political efficacy.
  • To have common projects, internationally and locally, for example in the fields of nuclear weapon abolition, landmine banning or human rights issues.

This cooperation is beneficial for both IPPNW and IFMSA. Together for the better tomorrow!
